Legend states Giant’s Causeway was built by Finn McCool as a walkway to fight Benandonner, the Scottish giant. Realizing Benandonner was much bigger than him, he ran to his wife who disguised him as a baby. When Benandonner saw the huge “baby,” he assumed the father would be gigantic and ran back to Scotland, destroying the causeway as he returned.
