There has been some confusion and difficulty for some people to log in and create a user account on the new Ladies on the Go web site. I thought I would send this out to everyone in order to assist with the registration process.
 1)    Go to Ladies on the Go main web site http://www.ladiesonthego.ca/

 2)    Once on the main page find the “Members” button at the top right of the page.

3)    Click on “Members”

4)    The first time you enter the member’s site you will be taken to a new screen that tells you that the site is password protected and that members need to sign in. This is the site that you enter the password I give you. You need to email me to get this password.

5)    Once you enter the password a new screen will come up. This is the member’s forum. It will say, “Welcome guest, posting on this forum requires registration. Click on the word “registration”.

6)    You will then be taken to a registration site. Here you create your own unique user ID. It can be anything you want. It will also ask for your email.  An email with a password will be emailed to you.  Go to the link on the email, sign in using that password, then you can change your password. 

7)    Once these steps are completed you will then be able to fill out your user profile. But be aware that what you put in your user profile is public information so safe guard your privacy please. Put as much or as little as you are comfortable with. You can always update your profile at any time.

8)    Once you are satisfied with your user profile click on save changes or submit changes. You are done.

9)    The best way to then access the member’s forum is to close your Internet browser and go back into Ladies on the Go. When you go to “Members” you can now enter your ID and your password.

10) From time to time the system hiccups and when you go to log in the original screen will appear. Just enter the password I gave you and then you can log in as normal.

I have been asked why the log in so cumbersome. The answer is simple. I want to provide as much protection to members as I can.  By having you email me to request the initial password I can attempt to screen, as best as possible, who has access. Be assured that both Alice and I moderate the message board.

 I have also been asked why I should register. With Ladies on the Go I am attempting to create a safe space for women who want to travel with other like-minded ladies. But I want your input as to what trips and what type of travel you want to do. The member’s forum is a place to exchange ideas, experiences and opinions. I have set up 6 forums at this time. I can add as many as you like but I wanted to get some content up and running as quickly as I could. If you have any topics you would like to see opened in the forum just email or phone me and I will be happy to accommodate.

I have also been asked why I have a membership fee of $35. First, this fee is subtracted from the first trip you book with Ladies on the Go, so in essence you get the money back on your first trip. Second, by paying a fee I get a sense of who the person is and know that they have a strong interest in committing to travel. It is one way I can keep the site safe for all members. Rather than allowing a general registration, a fee service allows me to track who the users are and know that members are there for the same reason. You too will know that other members are committed to travel.
